Hedonism II Resort Vs Sandals Negril Resort

When we decided to go on an all inclusive vacation we had many options to choose from.  We knew we wanted to be in Jamaica , preferably Negril , but we were torn between Sandals and Hedonism II beach resorts.  The price was about the same and in the end we picked Sandals Negril resort.  This was based on some Sandals and Hedonism resort trip reports I found on the web.  I was told you pay to party and after walking the beach and seeing the Hedonism II resort facilities I understand what that means.  To the right you'll see pictures I took of the accommodations at Hedonism II and Sandals Negril resorts.  I talked to a couple who had seen the inside of the Hedonism II rooms and all they could say was motel 6.

From what we could see, Hedonism II resort has an all nude beach and a clothing optional beach so you can go covered topless or nude.  Then there are two hot tubs, one for nude and one "prude".  They have a cool water slide and a trapeze where you can learn to do flips.  Hedonism II resort has the standard water sports sailing, water skiing, sail boarding and probably scuba and snorkeling.
 

The beach at Hedonism II resort was rough to walk on.  The sand was course like you'd find in your kids sand box.  There were sharp rocks everywhere and crushed up shells.  It makes it hard to walk the beach.  Other areas of the Negril seven mile beach have smooth fine sand that feels great on your feet.  I thought at first this was just at Sandals Negril resort but even beyond Sandals and Beaches Negril resorts on the public side the sand is fine.  Probably has to do with the fact that Hedonism II resort is located right by shallow water with lots of coral.  The other areas of the Hedonism II resort beach are shallow but consist of sand and weeds.

To Hedonism's credit, I was told they have a fantastic disco.  You can buy a Hedonism II day pass for $75.00 per person and visit this all inclusive resort.  If your into good night life this might be worth  

it. Staying at Sandals Negril allowed us to see many of the Hedonism II vacationers who liked to walk the seven mile beach.  Many came by topless which I didn't mind though it seemed as if some just wanted to see if they could shock the "prudes".  We took a walk over to Hedonism II to check things out.  My wife found it amusing when she saw three people on the dock, two hot girls and a guy with a huge schlong.  I gave him the thumbs up for the good company he was keeping.  What was a bit scary was when I sailed a hobie cat and passed by naked people on water bikes and in sailboats.
